We're celebrating Pride all month by spotlighting LGBTIQA+ owners and founders of some of your favorite brands. Best part, you can order them here as you learn more about them:
Mitch Orkis and his co-founder Hunter Morris came together to solve for an unaddressed market in the sexual wellness products space, there was no middle ground between mass produced sex brands and the more niche and eccentric sex shops. Their mission is to help the world have more fun sex while being able to educate and inspire people to try new things in the bedroom.
Founder Rocco Venneri launched Cool Cat a great-tasting, low-calorie, portable white wine spritzer made with natural ingredients after being inspired by a conversation with his brother and a delicious Elderflower cocktail in Europe. As a minority, it was of paramount importance to him that the brand be rooted in representation, inclusivity, and acceptance of people of all races, ethnicities, genders, and sexual orientations. Now picking up speed, the brand will be distributed nationally in 2023.
When Natasha and Freya founded CoolHaus in 2009, they did not feel represented by any of the dessert brands on shelves… not as Millennials, not as women, and definitely not as LGBTQ+ women. They decided to be the brand–from the product to our culture–that they wanted to buy. They bought a piece of sh*t postal van masquerading as an ice cream truck on Craigslist and towed it to Coachella Music Festival. After debuting to the crowd of 100,000, the brand went viral.
