Update from Jay Snowden, CEO

#thisispenn
Dear Hanh:

It has been two weeks since I last wrote to you, and I hope this latest update finds you and your family healthy and safe.

First, our hearts go out to all of those affected by this ongoing pandemic, including our first responders and health care workers on the front lines. Fortunately, according to public health officials, we finally may be starting to see a light at the end of this tunnel. The extreme social distancing orders we’ve been living under have helped to “flatten the curve” in cities around the country and the number of positive tests have slowly begun to stabilize, which has given rise to a growing chorus of local, state and federal officials asking to reopen our country for business sometime in late May or June.

In preparation, our Corporate and property management teams have been actively engaged in discussions with our regulators and local and state governments and health authorities to get ready for the eventuality of resuming operations. This includes developing comprehensive reopening protocols, which are entirely focused on keeping you and our team members safe.

Our Communities

Meanwhile, our team members have been busy helping those most in need in our communities. In addition to providing hotel rooms and PPE equipment to first responders across the country, we have donated countless tons of food to local food banks, shelters and to our own team members. I’m proud of the fact that despite the challenges our team members are facing, they continue to think about the greater good.

Our Guests

Since the time we were required to temporarily close, we have been busy deep cleaning all of our facilities. In addition to the reopening protocols we’re developing, once we’re able to resume operations, we’ll be following the CDC’s stringent guidelines, including increased daily cleaning regimens, maximizing air circulation, and reducing the number of slot machines in play at any one time, among others.

Now more than ever, we understand the importance of flexibility when you are planning future visits to our casinos. If you booked a hotel room from the time our casinos closed until the end of April, we have automatically cancelled your reservation and reversed any charges that may have occurred. If you have any questions, or notice charges were not reversed, please visit our website and leave us a note.

When we reopen our casinos and hotels, we will allow full changes or cancellations without a charge up to 24 hours prior to the arrival. This includes any rooms you may have booked through a third-party website or with a pre-paid rate.

If you purchased a ticket through Ticketmaster for a show that we were forced to cancel because of the casinos closing, please visit the Ticketmaster website for refunds.

Our mychoice Guests

We know that many of you are missing your favorite games, the community and friendships you have built at our local casinos. While it is hard now, we want to make it as easy for you as possible when we’re able to welcome you back. We know just how important your offers, mycash and tier status are to you and we don’t want you to have to worry about these items right now.
  • Offers: When we reopen, we will make sure you have offers like those that you had when we closed.

  • Tier Status: We are working on ways to ensure you have every opportunity to earn the same status you are now for 2021. We will share those details once we are able to reopen.

  • mycash: You will have ample time to redeem any mycash in your bank. Until further notice we have stopped the expiration of mycash.

We will continue to monitor and evaluate the mychoice program as we know more about when our casinos will reopen.

Your loyalty means a great deal to me and all our team members at Penn National Gaming and we can’t thank you enough for choosing to stay and play with us. We are anticipating the day when we can reopen our doors to the action and excitement we have all been missing. Until then, we wish you and your families all the very best.

Optimistically,

Jay Snowden
President & CEO
